EDTMPS, Ethylenediamine tetramethylphosphonic acid sodium is a nitrogen-containing organic polybasic phosphonic acid mainly used as a cathodic corrosion inhibitor. Compared with inorganic polyphosphates, it has a higher corrosion inhibition efficiency, about 3 to 5 times higher. EDTMPS is miscible with water, non-toxic and pollution-free, with good chemical stability and temperature resistance, and can maintain its scale inhibition effect even at high temperatures of 200 ℃. In aqueous solution, EDTMPS can dissociate into 8 positive and negative ions, forming chelates with multiple metal ions, thereby disrupting the normal crystallization of calcium scale and exhibiting good scale inhibition effects on calcium sulfate and barium sulfate scales.
The main uses of EDTMPS include as a corrosion and scale inhibitor for circulating water and boiler water, a chelating agent for cyanide free electroplating, a chelating agent for the textile printing and dyeing industry, and an oxygen bleaching stabilizer. When used alone in a circulating cooling water system, the general dosage is 2-10mg/L. In addition, EDTMPS can be compounded with HPMA in a ratio of 1:3 for water treatment in low-pressure boilers, and can also be compounded with other compounds such as BTA, PAAS, zinc salts, etc.
In terms of product form, EDTMPS is usually packaged in plastic drums, each weighing 25kg or determined according to user needs, and should be stored in a cool indoor place for a storage period of six months. During use, as EDTMPS is neutral, attention should be paid to labor protection during operation, avoiding contact with skin and eyes. Once in contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
